Fenerbahçe Vice President Erol Bilecik resigned after his email was leaked

Fenerbahçe Vice President Erol Bilecik announced his resignation from his board membership.

An email Bilecik sent to Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç before Eid al-Adha was leaked to the press, and it was alleged that the email contained insulting statements towards former president Aziz Yıldırım.

Following the reactions, Bilecik issued a statement from X, stating that the e-mail had been seized illegally and announcing that it would exercise its legal rights.

Bilecik, who announced that he would not be a candidate at the congress in September, resigned from his position at Fenerbahçe today.

Bilecik's statement titled "To the Great Fenerbahçe Community" in X is as follows:

"Due to recent smear campaigns targeting our club, both personally and through my family, I announced my decision to not run for board membership at the extraordinary congress in September. This decision was intended to focus on my responsibilities in line with Fenerbahçe's institutionalization and sustainable growth goals."

Unfortunately, I observe that the attacks directed at me continue to occupy our club's agenda during this period. I wholeheartedly believe that Fenerbahçe should focus solely on its goals of unity and success ahead of the new season.

Therefore, I respectfully inform the public that I have decided to resign from my position as a member of the Fenerbahçe Sports Club Board of Directors as of today.”

Bilecik also claimed that Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç would announce the club's financial independence in the near future.
