José Pedro Pinto takes his fourth podium in the Portuguese Junior Karting Championship

On Sunday, July 6th, at the Braga International Karting Track, young driver José Pedro Pinto took third place in the fourth round of the Toyota Portuguese Karting Championship in the X30 Junior category. At 12 years old, the Quarteira native achieved his fourth consecutive podium finish, consistently remaining among the top drivers in his debut season in the category.
After winning the 2024 Portuguese Karting Cup in the X30 Mini category, José Pedro Pinto has also been excelling in the higher division. This season, he's already reached the podium at the tracks in Viana do Castelo—where he took pole position and won a qualifying heat—, Portimão, and Palmela. In Braga, he shone again on Sunday with an excellent comeback, finishing third.
The weekend began with a setback, when a technical issue forced him out of Saturday's final right at the start, despite showing the pace to challenge for the top spots. On Sunday, without giving up, the young driver responded with determination, climbing from fourth to third place.

"It was great to get on the podium on such a difficult weekend, with intense heat and that bit of bad luck that prevented us from competing in Saturday's final. On Sunday, I felt great and managed to get on the podium, only behind two more experienced drivers. It's been a positive season, with a lot of progress in a new category, and I want to thank my family and the entire FCK Motorsport team, who always strive to improve their work and have helped me immensely in this learning process," said the promising 12-year-old driver.
The fifth and final double round of the Toyota Karting Championship of Portugal will be held on September 6th and 7th, at the Kartódromo Internacional da Região Oeste , in Bombarral.
