Arouca receives half a million euros from UEFA

The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) will distribute a total of approximately €7.5 million to 13 clubs in the 2024/25 I Liga, part of UEFA's solidarity mechanism, the Portuguese governing body announced. Arouca is one of the recipients of this amount, along with Santa Clara, Famalicão, Estoril Praia, Casa Pia, Moreirense, Rio Ave, Gil Vicente, Nacional, Estrela da Amadora, AVS, Farense, and Boavista. Each club will receive €578,384.62 (out of a total of €7,519 million), a distribution that includes the relegated Boavista and Farense, and excludes Sporting, Benfica, FC Porto, Sporting de Braga and Vitória de Guimarães, who participated in UEFA competitions. According to the FPF, this is the "largest amount ever" to be received under the solidarity mechanism, ahead of the Netherlands (€6.8 million) and Belgium (€6.4 million), which are second and third in the highest amounts to be distributed.
"This amount is added to the amount already distributed to the 16 Sports Societies that competed in the II Liga in 2024/2025, totaling €6,119,000 (€382,437 each), bringing the total amount distributed by the UEFA solidarity mechanism to Portuguese clubs in 2024/2025 to over €13 million," adds the FPF. In September 2024, the clubs unanimously approved the continued equitable distribution of UEFA solidarity funds to the II Liga clubs, ensuring more balanced financial support.
