Fabio Veríssimo in Sporting-Vitoria Guimarães, Miguel Nogueira in Braga-Benfica

Fabio Veríssimo in Sporting-Vitoria Guimarães, Miguel Nogueira in Braga-Benfica

Fábio Veríssimo will referee the Sporting-Vitória de Guimarães game, on the last round of the I Liga, on Saturday, while Miguel Nogueira will direct Sporting de Braga's reception to Benfica, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) announced today.

In a statement, the FPF announced the Arbitration Council's choices for the games of the 34th round of the two professional categories, including the matches between Sporting and Benfica, who are competing for the championship title.

At the José Alvalade Stadium, in Lisbon, where champion Sporting only depends on its result against Vitória de Guimarães to retain the title, Fábio Veríssimo, from the Leiria association, will be there, while, on the same day, also at 18:00, Miguel Nogueira, from the Lisbon association, will lead the visit to Sporting de Braga from Benfica, who needs a 'slip' from the 'lions'.

In the 'fight' for permanence, João Gonçalves and Cláudio Pereira, both from the Porto association, will be in the clash between Farense and Santa Clara, with the Azoreans disputing the last European place, and in the meeting between AVS and Moreirense, respectively.

André Narciso, from Setúbal, will officiate the game between Arouca and Boavista, while Gustavo Correia, from Porto, will be in charge of the duel between Estoril Praia and Estrela da Amadora.

For the decisive duels for promotion to the second division in the League, on Friday, the federative body led by Luciano Gonçalves placed its bets on António Nobre, in Marítimo-Vizela, Tiago Martins, in Alverca-Portimonense, and João Pinheiro, for União de Leiria-Tondela.

The 34th and final round of the I Liga will be played entirely on Friday and Saturday, due to the legislative elections, while the final round of the second tier starts today and ends on Saturday.

Despite the 'heavy' agenda, the FPF CD left Luís Godinho, from the Évora association, 'off', the only one of the nine internationals who was left out of the nominations for this round.
