On Thursday, the White and Reds defeated the Italians 4:2 (3:1, 1:0, 0:1) , and a day later they lost after extra time to the Slovenians 2:3 (2:1, 0:0, 0:1 - 0:1) .

In the earlier match on Saturday, Italy won against Slovenia 3-2 (1-0, 1-2, 1-0).

During the tournament in Sosnowiec, Finn Pekka Tirkkonen, who normally works for GKS Tychy, made his debut as Poland's coach. He replaced Robert Kalaber in early October. The Slovak had been with the national team for five years, his contract expiring at the end of June.

The European Nations Cup is a new series of competitions, the next ones will take place in December in Hungary and in February in Great Britain.

With the November tournament, the Poles began preparations for the Division 1A World Championships, which – also at the Sosnowiec ice rink – will be held from May 2-8, 2026. The Polish national team will compete for promotion to the elite group against France, Kazakhstan, who were relegated from the top group, Ukraine, Japan, and Lithuania, who advanced from a lower division.

All of Poland's rivals in the EPN tournament will play in the next Elite World Championships.
