ITF. First-round victories for Pieczkowski and Podlińska

Third-seeded Olaf Pieczkowski was the only singles player to play a first-round match today. He proved stronger against Alex Kuperstein in Bahrain, securing a spot in the Round of 16. A few hours later, he and Dev Javia of India lost a close match to a Spanish-Latvian pairing to secure a spot in the doubles quarterfinals. In Monastir, Tunisia, Piotr Pawlak and Lorenzo Carboni advanced to the top eight, defeating Maxence Beauge and Valentin De Carvalho.

Also in Monastir, 18-year-old Anna Pashun comfortably won her match, securing her spot in the next round after losing just one game like Marcelina Podlińska in Antalya. The Polish field in Tunisia was rounded out by Nina Hurkacz and Julia Daroszewska in the doubles competition.
