The Bavarians' victory allowed them not only to overtake the Parisians but also to jump to the top of the table, narrowly overtaking Arsenal, who comfortably defeated Slavia Prague 3-0 away. Both teams have 12 points, but Bayern leads thanks to a better goal difference (14-3 to Arsenal's 11-0).

PSG, which had full points after Matchday 3 and an impressive 13-3 record, dropped to third place with nine points, three points behind the leaders. Inter Milan (9 points, 9-0), who play on Wednesday, remain just off the podium. Real Madrid (9 points) retained fifth place despite a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool. This victory proved crucial for the Reds, moving from 10th to sixth, with nine points.

Tottenham Hotspur also made a significant jump in the table, thrashing FC Copenhagen 4-0 and moving from 15th to 7th place. Borussia Dortmund (8th, 7 points) remained in the top half, followed closely by Manchester City, who did not play, remaining on 7 points. Sporting have improved their position slightly, holding 7 points and 10th place after a 1-1 draw with Juventus.

Atletico Madrid bounced back from the bottom of the table with a 2-1 victory over Union Saint-Gilloise, moving from 20th to 14th place. AS Monaco, previously with just a point, won 1-0 against Bodo/Glimt in Norway, moving them up to 18th. Juventus drew for the third time in a row (1-1 against Sporting), leaving them in 23rd place.

At the other end of the table, little has changed. Benfica and Ajax remain pointless, closing the gap. Olympiakos Piraeus improved their position slightly, moving from 32nd to 31st place after a 1-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven, although their record remains very poor (2-9). Villarreal, Copenhagen, Kairat Almaty, and the aforementioned Lisbon and Amsterdam teams are also in the relegation zone.

After four rounds, the table is clearly divided – the top four (Bayern, Arsenal, PSG, and Inter) are falling behind the rest of the pack, while the remaining teams are fighting for spots that will grant them access to the knockout stages. As a reminder, the top eight automatically advance to the Round of 16, the next sixteen (9th to 24th place) compete in the playoffs, and teams in 25th to 36th place are eliminated.
