The number of countries guaranteed to qualify for the World Cup has increased to 21

The number of countries confirmed to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup has increased to 21.

Ghana defeated Comoros 1-0 in the final week of the World Cup African Qualifiers, securing their place in the tournament by finishing first in Group I.

Besides Ghana, the other teams that have secured a place in the World Cup so far are Australia, Iran, Japan, Jordan, South Korea, Uzbekistan, New Zealand, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with the participation of 48 teams for the first time in history.
