Lionel Messi played his last international match for Argentina

Argentina defeated Venezuela 3-0 at home in the 2026 FIFA World Cup South American qualifiers.

Argentinian star Lionel Messi , who played for the last time with his national jersey in his country, experienced emotional moments in the match played at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires.

38-year-old Messi, who attended the ceremony with his children, could not hold back his tears during the warm-up and after the match .

Argentina defeated its opponent 3-0 with goals from Messi (2) and Lautaro Martinez, and was guaranteed to participate in the cup as the leader with 38 points before the final matches.
