Fenerbahçe: Our fight against those who carry the traces of FETÖ will not end

Fenerbahçe made a statement regarding the July 3 process: “ We declare that our fight against those who bear the traces of this structure ('FETÖ') will not end .”

Former president Aziz Yıldırım’s statement from last year was also recirculated on social media: “July 3 is not over, they are after revenge.”

Fenerbahçe's statement is as follows:

“Today, the 14th year since July 3, 2011, is not the anniversary of the conspiracy of the police, prosecutors and media members who hid in the shadow of FETÖ and collapsed against Fenerbahçe; it is the anniversary of Fenerbahçe standing tall with its President, managers and community!

It is not the anniversary of the vile attacks of dark forces, but the anniversary of Fenerbahçe uniting with its millions of fans! It is not the anniversary of those who targeted Fenerbahçe with slander, but of those who did not doubt Fenerbahçe's integrity!

It is not the anniversary of those who have their eyes on Fenerbahçe's sweat, but of those who support Fenerbahçe's efforts to the end, women, children, young and old!

And today, Fenerbahçe is proof that it is the 'world's greatest sports club' not only with its struggle in the fields and halls, but also with its upright stance against those who threaten its country !

On the anniversary of July 3, 2011, we emphasize once again that we stand proudly where we were on the first day; we serve our country, create added value for our nation, become a home for the youth, a soldier for our flag, and a beacon for the future…

As Fenerbahçe Sports Club, we declare that our stance against this dark structure is clear and unchangeable, and that our struggle against those who carry the traces of this structure will not end.”

The statement circulated by Aziz Yıldırım and his comrades is summarized as follows:

* Dear Fenerbahçe fans; It has been exactly 14 years since the vile terrorist organization FETÖ, which aims to take over and rule Fenerbahçe in particular, to create an environment of constant conflict by creating irreparable fault lines between major communities, and to expand the occupation area of ​​the imperial powers, including our country, in general, hit the 'yellow and navy blue wall' and was forced to retreat for the first time.

* 14 years ago this morning, as we woke up with the pride and honor of being champions in five branches in the same season and were getting ready to go watch the races of our rowing team competing in Sapanca, we were detained in our homes by FETO police officers who were directed by the members of the judiciary, who are FETÖ's apparatus, on the grounds of many false allegations.

* Despite all this, FETÖ did not leave us alone inside. They tried to keep us under pressure there with dirty bargaining methods. The smear and discrediting frenzy continued unabated.

* Adopting the principles of our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as our motto, we eliminated one by one the immoral mind games that FETÖ played to take over Fenerbahçe and ultimately the Republic of Turkey.

* It is extremely saddening and thought-provoking that the treacherous terrorist organization has remained so strong despite 14 years having passed since the July 3 plot.

* As long as this threat continues, our fight for Fenerbahçe must continue with determination, and this fight must not be abandoned for anything or anyone.

* The issue that our entire community must constantly question is this; why were we imprisoned on July 3? Why were we deprived of our freedom and our families for a year, within four walls? Why was our club subjected to treatment it did not deserve for years? Why did we suffer material and moral losses? Why did our children shed tears for Fenerbahçe? Why is this dark structure still standing before us today, seeking revenge?

* I ask these questions because I see a great danger coming. Because I started to see the actors of the period, their PR people and those who whitewashed them even within our community. I ask these questions because I love Fenerbahçe very much…

* I would like to clearly state here that; July 3rd is not over. They are after revenge. Everyone will see and understand this in time. Our duty is to continue our path and struggle with determination regarding compensation for the damages, without ever compromising our stance on July 3rd.

* We do not have the luxury of forgetting the past, showing mercy or forgiving those who caused us and our club this pain, or accepting those who were involved in that structure as if nothing had happened.

* It is very important for our unity and solidarity to always continue with the spirit of July 3. As long as we are one and together, there is no power that can defeat us.
