According tothe BBC , a water crisis broke out between the two teams before the match. According to UEFA rules, away teams can train in the home team's stadium.

Before the match, the Madrid team trained at the Emirates Stadium, but the players were unable to find hot water in the stadium's dressing rooms.

Arsenal apologised for 'no hot water' in the dressing room as Diego Simeone's pupils became angry.

The team interrupted training. Players reportedly returned to the hotel without showering.

Atletico Madrid lost 3-2 to Liverpool in the Champions League and then defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1.
