62.9% of Istanbul is without sports

The "Physical Activity Research" survey, prepared by the Istanbul Planning Agency on behalf of Spor Istanbul Inc., affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, with multiple responses from 11,534 adults, revealed that 63.9 percent of adults in Istanbul do not do sports.

THE MOST WALK IS DONEThe most common activity among women is walking, while among men it is running and cycling.

Yoga/Pilates: 7.6%
• The rate of those who participate in sports was recorded as 37%. According to the research, only 37.1% of the participants engage in regular physical activity, sports, or exercise.
• The rate of people who do sports increased from 13.2% in 2020 to 37.1% in 2024. However, 62.9% of Istanbul residents still spend their lives inactive.
