A defenseman for the Chelyabinsk team was suspended for one match after a fight that broke out on the ice during Traktor's game against Spartak.

As the KHL explained, not only Kroshinsky but also Spartak Moscow forward Kholodilin were suspended from the ice for the upcoming game. Kholodilin was disqualified and fined for kneeing an opponent. Kroshinsky, however, was punished for instigating the fight.

"Kroshchinsky was disqualified as the instigator of the fight," TASS quoted Valery Kamensky, chairman of the KHL Sports Disciplinary Committee, as saying. "Furthermore, we also took into account his history of similar penalties in previous matches."

The story hinted at in the KHL occurred earlier this year, when Fedor Kroschinsky, playing for Neftekhimik, was given a five-minute penalty for fighting on the ice during a match against Dynamo Minsk.

Kroshinsky himself described the brawl as entirely normal. "They played dirty against Andryukha [Svetlakov]," the hockey player said. "And I, like any of us, went to his defense—I wanted to show that you can't play like that against our guys. I think the fight was good, but it could have been more intense."

Thus, the Traktor defenseman will miss his team's next match, which will take place on Chelyabinsk ice on September 25 against Omsk's Avangard.
