Pedro Gonçalves and Esgaio absent from Sporting's second training session in Lagos

Midfielder Pedro Gonçalves, for personal reasons, and defender Ricardo Esgaio, with physical problems, missed Sporting's second training session in Lagos yesterday.
“Ricardo Esgaio, handed over to the Performance Unit, and Pedro Gonçalves, authorized to be absent for personal reasons, did not participate in the work on the pitch,” reads a note published on Sporting's website.
Also absent is Swedish player Viktor Gyökeres, the top scorer in the last two championships, who did not show up for the training camp without the club's authorization.
Sporting continues today to prepare for the following day's game against the Scottish side Celtic, the first friendly match played behind closed doors by Rui Borges' men.
On July 21, Sporting will play again at the Algarve Stadium, against the English side Sunderland, at the end of the training camp in the south of the country, ending the pre-season against Villarreal, in the Cinco Violinos Trophy, on July 26, at the National Stadium, in Oeiras, due to the renovations underway at the José Alvalade Stadium.
Sporting's first official match of the season will be against Benfica, in the Super Cup, which will also be played in the Algarve, on July 31st.
