José Pedro Pinto achieves 3rd place in the Portuguese Junior Karting Championship

In his debut season in the X30 Junior category, José Pedro Pinto maintained his podium finishes on all tracks of the Toyota Karting Championship of Portugal, this time achieving third place in the race on Sunday, July 6, held at the Kartódromo Internacional de Braga.

This is another important result for the promising Algarve driver, who is just 12 years old.

After winning the premier event of national karting in 2024, the Portuguese Karting Cup, in the X30 Mini category, José Pedro Pinto continues to accumulate excellent performances in his first season in the category above, the X30 Junior.

After having already climbed onto the podium on the tracks of Viana do Castelo (where he even achieved pole position and won a qualifying round), Portimão and Palmela, the young Algarve driver, born in Quarteira, now achieved third place in the race at the Kartódromo Internacional de Braga.

A result that could have been even better, had it not been for a technical problem that left him out at the start of the final on Saturday, July 5, when he had shown he had the pace to fight for the top spots.

Without giving up , José Pedro Pinto came back even stronger in the next day's race and put in an excellent performance in the final, where he moved up from fourth to third place.

“It was great to get on the podium on such a difficult weekend, with a lot of heat and that bit of bad luck that prevented us from competing in the final on Saturday. On Sunday, I felt really good and managed to get on the podium, only behind two more experienced drivers. It has been a positive season, with a lot of progress in a new category, and I want to thank my family and the entire FCK Motorsport team, who always try to improve their work and who have helped me a lot in this learning process”, said the 12-year-old driver.

The fifth and final double round of the Toyota Karting Championship of Portugal will be held on the 6th and 7th of September, at the Kartódromo Internacional da Região Oeste, in Bombarral.
