FC Porto permanently transfers Romário Baró to Polish side Radomiak Radom

FC Porto permanently transfers Romário Baró to Polish side Radomiak Radom

Portuguese-Guinean midfielder Romário Baró was loaned by FC Porto to Radomiak Radom, in the Polish top flight, on a permanent basis, with the Portuguese club retaining 40% of the player's economic rights, the 'dragons' announced today.

The 'blue and whites' are betting on the 25-year-old player's value to gain capital from a future transfer, without demanding any immediate payment from the Polish club, in a transaction that did not involve intermediary services.

Romário Baró arrived at FC Porto in 2014 and, during his development process, was an important part of the team that won the Youth League and the national junior championship in 2019.

At a time when he had already accumulated a lot of experience at senior level, with regular appearances for Porto's B team, his debut for the main team took place in August 2019, under the technical command of Sérgio Conceição.

Having never managed to establish himself consistently in the Porto starting eleven and plagued by several injuries, Romário Baró was loaned to Estoril Praia and Casa Pia, in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons, before returning to the FC Porto squad, in 2023/24.

Last season, in his first experience outside of Portugal, he played on loan for Swiss side Basel, for whom he played 17 times.

No longer in the options of Italian coach Francesco Farioli, the player has now permanently left FC Porto, having played a total of 51 games for the main team, with which he won a national championship title, two Portuguese Cups and a Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup.
