Atlético had to shower at their hotel because a breakdown left the Emirates without hot water.

Atlético had to shower at their hotel because a breakdown left the Emirates without hot water.

It's 8:00 p.m. in London, and the Red and White squad is on their bus heading back to their hotel, the Marriott Regents Park, after finishing their training session ahead of Tuesday's Champions League match against Arsenal. The 24 players called up by Diego Simeone are sweating because a breakdown has left the Emirates Stadium without hot water.

The Red and White team's organization doesn't believe something like this will happen in 2025 and in a competition like the Champions League, the most important club competition in the world. Furthermore, the rain, which appeared during the second half of the training session, left the players soaked and unable to warm up with a proper shower.

Atlético de Madrid has filed an official complaint to UEFA regarding the incident at the stadium. The situation began before they arrived at the venue, around 5:30 p.m. UK time, and they were warned about it. It hasn't been resolved in two and a half hours, and it's unknown whether it will be resolved for tomorrow's match.

Simeone had appeared at a press conference alongside Julián Álvarez before heading onto the pitch at the Estadio Britontico to lead the session. The session featured the entire Atlético squad, with the exception of Jonny Cardoso , who continues to struggle with his ankle.

On the Emirates pitch, Thiago Almada , who played a few minutes against Osasuna and, in fact, scored the winning goal, and Nico González , who left that match with discomfort due to a knock, have already been seen training normally.
