After a great season, three futsal clubs from the west of the Alpes-Maritimes will meet again in Regional 1

It's the youngest futsal club in Cannes, but not the least successful. Founded in 2022, Inter Cannes, chaired by Haïkel Rezgui, has just had a very good season. The Senior District men's team was the departmental champion and will advance to the regional championship for the 2025-2026 season. A superb performance for players who, for a long time, had to play away due to a lack of slots in one of Cannes' gymnasiums. Finally, they were able to train and play in the Ranguin gymnasium, before heading to Les Mûriers next season! "We hope there will be a crowd to come and cheer on the boys and girls," says the president-manager.
Because, on the Senior women's side, coached by Anna-Raquel Vennetilli , the Cannes team won the AS Monaco tournament and will participate, next season, in the very first regional championship . "We want to build a big team to then reach the national D1. It's feasible. We recruit through word of mouth and our project. As a reminder, our women's team won the regional futsal challenge in 2023-2024."
With its 58 members , Inter Cannes is gaining momentum and intends to increase its numbers thanks to young players, the essential base for a club. "We have young players in U14 and U15 who are the next generation among the boys. Both teams were able to participate in the first futsal plateaus of the District Côte d'Azur." As for the Mandelieu Futsal Academy , which already plays in Regional 1 , the season was successful, with a 4th place in the championship for the Seniors of I van Rodriguez . Satisfaction of the president-player, Mehdi Bottero : "We have never been as close to the champion as this season. We could even have played for the title without two or three poor performances this winter. Because we finished strong with eight wins in nine matches! Our coach-manager took us to a new level. The group has progressed in all aspects." With 150 members , the MFA could "accommodate double that if we had the slots at the Olympia hall." The club welcomes children from the age of 6, in order to help them progress and why not one day join the first team.
The Côte d'Azur Cup for ACA CannesThird teammate in R1: ACA Cannes , who play at the Ranguin gymnasium. The team, led by Ala-Eddine Trifi (also a player), had an average season in the league (mid-table), enhanced by a victory in the Côte d'Azur Cup. "We had our ups and downs. We started well, before having a dip and alternating between good and bad, underlines the team manager. Next season, we want to reach as high as possible. There are three of us local teams: these derbies will spice up the league, especially since we know each other well. And it's better for traveling!"
