Athletics: three Périgord juniors French vice-champions in Lens

Three young athletes from Périgord finished second in the French Minimes Cup with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine team this Monday.
Three girls from Dordogne Athletics were selected to join the Nouvelle-Aquitaine team to compete in the French Junior League Cup this Monday, July 14th in Lens. All first-year players (born in 2011, when the competition primarily involved players from 2010), they contributed significantly to their regional team's second-place finish, making them the French vice-champion.
In detail, Bergerac's Manon Comte-Ducourt took fifth place (out of 24 participants) in the pole vault competition, with her 3.05m, which earned the team eleven points. Marie Ducrocq, for her part, posted her best performance of the season in 16:25.65 (seven points), to place eleventh in the 3,000m walk. As for Lilly Richards, her 3:10.55 in the 1,000m placed her 20th, notably behind fourteen girls older than her. Next weekend, three athletes from Périgord will be competing at the French Avenir Championships in Saint-Étienne. More information this Friday, July 18, in "DL."
