Why did Dayro Moreno play with the last name Galindo against Millonarios? Once Caldas made its decision.

Once Caldas made an important and striking decision this Sunday in the Betplay League match against Millonarios . The Manizales team paid a well-deserved tribute to mothers on Mother's Day, and their players took the field wearing special jerseys.
Several fans noticed that Dayro Moreno wore an unusual last name on his jersey to face Millonarios . On the back, he wore his mother's surname Galindo , as part of a special initiative by Once Caldas.

But he wasn't just Colombia's top scorer; all of the Manizales squad's players proudly wore their mother's surnames on their jerseys, a feat never before seen in Colombian professional football.
"We've come together to change tradition because the players won't wear their fathers' last name on their jerseys, but rather their mothers' last name, as a tribute to those brave women who shaped their values, who encouraged them every morning to be better and never give up despite the difficulties. That's the goal of this initiative we've called Pioneers of the Soul," said Diego Angelillis Quiceno, general manager of the Caldas Liquor Industry.

"We also invite the media broadcasting the match to join us in recognizing these mothers, because each name on the backs of the Once Caldas players tells the story of a woman who fought, who cared, and who gave her all," added Angelillis Quiceno.
Backdrops were set up in some areas of Palogrande Stadium so families could take photos with their mothers attending the game, amidst the Mother's Day celebrations that will be remembered for years to come.
