The judge sends Raúl Asencio and the three former Real Madrid youth players involved in the distribution of a sex video of a minor to trial.

The Investigating Court number three of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has notified this Wednesday the order that concludes the investigation and formalizes a criminal process through the abbreviated procedure against the former Real Madrid youth players Andrés García , Ferrán Ruiz and Juan Rodríguez and against the central defender, already consolidated in the first team, Raúl Asencio, for their alleged involvement in the non-consensual recording or distribution of videos with sexual content that affect a minor and another young woman, while most of them were in a private space within a beach club in the south of the island of Gran Canaria.

The judicial authority agrees to transform the preliminary proceedings initiated in 2023 against the four investigated into an abbreviated procedure (that is, the completion of the investigation and its conversion into a criminal process with all its consequences) and classifies their actions as allegedly constituting crimes of discovery of secrets without consent and violation of privacy (article 197.1 of the Penal Code), distribution and sending to third parties of the videos without warning the injured parties or their consent (article 197.3) and recruitment or use of minors for pornographic purposes and possession of child pornography (article 189, 1 and 5 of the Penal Code).

The events described in the ruling allegedly occurred on June 15, 2023. According to the court ruling, the alleged victims, aged 16 and 18 at the time of the incident, are currently suffering from post-traumatic symptoms resulting from their experiences.
