Semar arrests six alleged hitmen, three of whom are minors, and seizes vests with CJNG initials.

CULIACÁN, Sin., (apro) .- The Mexican Navy Secretariat (Semar) arrested six alleged gunmen, who were carrying, in addition to weapons of different calibers and ammunition, vests with the initials CJNG and the colors green, white and red around them, letters alluding to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

The arrest took place on the night of June 24 in the rural area north of Culiacán, a location not specified in the bulletin shared by the State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE).

The statement was shared shortly after 5:33 p.m. on Wednesday the 25th, along with photos showing the vests, and minutes later the images were removed, leaving only the content that did not display the initials CJNG.

Regarding the arrest of the six men, they stated that three of them are minors, along with a 9-millimeter pistol, six AK-47 rifles, a 7.62-caliber rifle, along with 65 magazines, four .50-caliber cartridges, 1,871 7.62-caliber cartridges, and 13 9-millimeter cartridges.

During the Navy operation, eight vehicles were also seized, two of them armored. The seizure of 516,030 pesos in cash was also reported, as well as a 200-liter drum of acetone and three 25-kilo sacks of caustic soda, substances used in the manufacture of synthetic drugs.

The detainees were handed over to the Attorney General's Office to begin legal proceedings. These include the three minors, who join the 45 arrested between September 2024 and this June.

These minors have been detained during operations carried out to curb the conflict between the Mayos and Chapitos, some of them carrying firearms or so-called tire-punching weapons, among other alleged crimes.
