Ibiza: Scottish ice hockey talent (19) falls to his death from hotel balcony


The ice hockey world is mourning the loss of Gary Kelly. The 19-year-old Scottish junior professional succumbed to his serious injuries after falling from a hotel balcony.
According to media reports, Gary Keller (19) fell to his death from the third floor of the four-star Ibiza Rocks hotel on Monday. Emergency physicians could only pronounce him dead. Just a few days ago, a Scottish tourist died after falling from the same hotel in Ibiza .
The hotel said in a statement on Monday: "We are deeply shocked and devastated by the recent tragic incidents. Our priority is to support those affected and their families during this incredibly difficult time and to fully cooperate with the authorities in their investigations. The safety and well-being of our guests is and will continue to be our highest priority."
Following the Scottish ice hockey player's fatal fall, police in Ibiza have launched an investigation. An autopsy will now determine the exact cause of death.
The former junior national ice hockey player most recently played for the Dundee Stars and the Aberdeen Lynx. Both clubs expressed their deep sadness on social media. "The Dundee Stars are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Gary Kelly. We send our thoughts and condolences to Gary's family, his partner, and all his friends at this extremely difficult time," the Dundee Stars wrote on X.
