Naomh Moninne produced a late comeback to win by 3-15 to 3-14 and deny St Fechin’s a five-in-a-row of Louth SHC titles in a dramatic final at the Integral GAA Grounds in Drogheda.

Conor Murphy scored 2-3 as the Paddy Kelly Cup returned to the Dundalk club for the first time since 2019. Ryan Walsh’s 53rd minute goal had the holders perched on a 3-14 to 1-13 lead before a Coran Trainor strike at the other end brought Moninne back into it.

They reduced the deficit to three before Murphy grabbed his second goal in the 60th minute to tie up the scoring. The same player followed up with the winning point to complete the comeback after Fechin’s had led by 2-12 to 1-9 at the break.

The new champions will have plenty of time to celebrate their success with the start of the Leinster JHC still 10 weeks away.
