On September 25, Kostroma's Spartak faced local club KAMAZ in Naberezhnye Chelny in the fourth round of the Fonbet Regions' Path of the 2025/2026 Russian Cup. Regulation time ended in a goalless draw, but since the Russian Cup is a knockout game and draws are not allowed, the winner was determined by penalty shootouts. The home team had better luck in the penalties, winning 5-4 for KAMAZ.
