North Ossetian athlete Victoria Slanova won silver at the 2018 World Athletics Championships in New Delhi. More than 1,000 athletes are participating.

Victoria Slanova finished second in the 400-meter final, finishing in 1 minute 5.08 seconds. This result earned her a silver medal at the World Championships.

On the first day of the World Championships, Russian athletes took the top two places in the F37 shot put competition: Albert Khinchagov won with a world championship record (16.55 m), while Alexander Belobokov took silver. Maxim Shavrikov won bronze in the T11 long jump. Elena Gorlova also won bronze, placing third in the F53 discus throw.

It was previously reported that veterans in Yessentuki are competing in chess and checkers in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day.
