Sporting hosts FC Porto in the first derby of the I Liga on August 30th

The first classic of the 2025/26 edition of the Portuguese I League of football, between Sporting and FC Porto, in Lisbon, will be played on August 30, a Saturday, the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) announced today.
The clash between the 'lions', two-time national champions, and the 'dragons', on the fourth round of the I Liga, will start at 8:30 pm, at the José Alvalade Stadium, in Lisbon, one day before Benfica visits Alverca, on Sunday, September 1st, at 6:00 pm.
In the third round, whose program was also released today, Sporting visits Nacional, also on Saturday, August 23, at 6:00 pm, the same day that rivals Benfica host Tondela, but at 8:30 pm.
FC Porto takes to the field the following day, hosting Casa Pia at 6pm, before Sporting de Braga hosts AVS at 8:30pm.
In this round, Santa Clara's game, which faces the Conference League play-off, after overcoming two qualifying rounds, was postponed to September 6, the date of the national team's games.
