Portugal beats Senegal and finishes Beach Soccer World Cup in third place

The Portuguese beach soccer team finished the World Championship in third place today, beating Senegal 3-2 in the bronze medal match of the competition taking place in the Seychelles Islands.
After being eliminated by Brazil in the semi-finals, losing 4-2, the Portuguese team was twice behind against the Africans, with goals from Ninou Diatta and Sidy Fall, but ended up winning with goals from Seydina Gadiaga, in an own goal, Rui Coimbra and André Lourenço, all in the third and final period.
The national team, current European champion and winner of the World Cup on three occasions (2001, 2015 and 2019, the last two under the auspices of FIFA), had reached the quarter-finals in the previous edition of the competition, in 2024, in the United Arab Emirates.
The World Cup final will be played today between Belarus and Brazil, the title holder and record holder for trophies, starting at 16:30 (Lisbon time).
