Benfica's squad returned to training yesterday morning in Seixal, and Bruno Lage had one more player than the day before. Norwegian international Andreas Schjelderup joined the group after being allowed to report late due to the death of his maternal grandmother. The 21-year-old winger was very smiling in the images of the session released by the Reds on official media, showing everyone's support and a conversation with the coach on the pitch.
"It feels good to be back," the young man wrote in an Instagram story with two photos, one of him walking happily between Dahl and Prestianni and another in which he appears to be controlling the ball in front of Dudic.
The Bosnian right-back is one of the new signings already working at Benfica Campus, along with Rafa Obrador (left-back). Both are perfectly integrated into the squad and are accelerating their preparation to perform at a high level at the start of the season.
As with the previous day, Bruno Lage once again demanded that his players maintain high levels of intensity and aggression throughout the session, despite the intense heat. The ball was a near-constant presence throughout the training session, to the delight of the players, who had their vacation cut short due to their participation in the Club World Cup in the USA.
