Paulo Lopo spoke bluntly to journalists after Estrela da Amadora secured their place in the Betclic League.

"One thing that is important to say is that Estrela did not exist 5 years ago. And it was not just necessary to assemble a team, it was necessary to assemble several teams, a structure, and carry out works on the stadium. I remind you that there was a year in which we played four months away, but we only played four months away because we made a huge investment to be able to play in our stadium. There are clubs that, even today, do not play in their stadium because they have not yet carried out the aforementioned works", highlighted the director.

The great mentor of the current Estrela da Amadora also made it clear: "We revived Estrela, I don't think anyone can deny that. Obviously, the financial stability that Estoril has, having been in the first division for many years, is a stability that Estrela has not yet had. Estrela grew faster than it structured itself and we are here to learn and rebuild, but we must never forget that what we have done in football in Portugal is unprecedented. No one has ever taken a club from scratch that was in the third district division, CD Estrela, and in four years put it in the first division and it remains here."

Finally, Lopo highlighted that the Reboleira team has turned its weaknesses into strengths: "With the smallest, cheapest and least valuable squad according to experts, we have managed to stay independent of other clubs that arrived in January and did not need to sell. We have already performed a miracle in getting here and we have remained here. But we are not saints, do not ask us to perform miracles one after the other. There were some people who said that today we depend on others to stay in the first division. No! We depend on 29 points that we have achieved one after the other. Nobody has given us. If we have achieved 29 and the others have achieved less, it is because the others throughout the season were not as competent as we were, with less money and fewer possibilities", he concluded.
