Haaland receives stitches after freak accident with Norway national team

Erling Haaland experienced an unusual moment during the Norwegian national team's training session in Oslo. This is because the Manchester City striker needed three stitches in his mouth after being hit by the door of the delegation bus last weekend. Despite the scare, the striker is not a concern for the duel against Moldova this Tuesday (09), at the Ulevaal Stadium.
The incident occurred while the number 9 was waiting for his belongings near the trunk of the vehicle. Upon opening the trunk, the trunk lid hit the center forward squarely in the face, causing a deep cut to his lip. He even played it down on social media. In a selfie posted on Snapchat, he joked about the incident.
"I just crashed into the door of a bus. I have three stitches," he posted. He then responded to fans who suggested alternative versions of the injury, such as a supposed punch from Arsenal's Martin Odegarrd and his teammate.

Despite the setback, the striker remains confirmed for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Norway leads Group I with 12 points from four matches. Moldova is yet to win this season and sits at the bottom of the group, with only losses so far.
The match against Moldova, at 15:45 (Brasília time) this Tuesday (09), could further increase Norway's advantage in the table in search of the coveted spot.
