Gómez and Sosa are called up for Paraguay's friendlies and will miss Palmeiras' derby match.

Gómez and Sosa are called up for Paraguay's friendlies and will miss Palmeiras' derby match.

Palmeiras will be missing two more players for the derby against Santos on the 15th, in a rescheduled round of the Brasileirão. This Friday, defender Gustavo Gómez and midfielder Ramón Sosa were called up by the Paraguayan national team for friendlies during this November FIFA international break.

The Paraguayan duo will be part of the squad that will face the United States on the 15th and Mexico on the 18th, which will prevent them from playing against Santos.

In addition to Gómez and Sosa, Vitor Roque was called up by the Brazilian national team and Flaco López by Argentina, and they will also be unavailable for the team in the remainder of the Brasileirão. The list of absences could be even longer, as there is a possibility that Piquerez, Emi Martínez, and Facundo Torres will be called up by Uruguay.

However, Palmeiras is considering chartering a plane so that the players are available to coach Abel Ferreira for the match against Vitória on November 19th, valid for the 35th round of the Brazilian Championship, at Allianz Parque. In the case of Vitor Roque, the player will return from France on a plane with Leila Pereira and could reinforce the club against the Bahia team.

Leading the Brazilian Championship, Palmeiras is fighting for the title. Their next match will be against Mirassol next Sunday at 8:30 PM at the José Maria de Campos Maia Stadium in Mirassol.
