A month after making a mistake in the São Paulo vs. Palmeiras match, Abatti Abel returns to refereeing and leaves the game surrounded by police.

A month after making a mistake in the Palmeiras vs. São Paulo game and being suspended from the field by the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation), referee Ramon Abatti Abel returned to officiate a national match. In the Série B, between Athletic and Ferroviária, he ended up surrounded by police officers.
The incident that generated the most outrage occurred 21 minutes into the second half. The referee called a foul and disallowed a Ferroviária goal, claiming a handball. The players from the São Paulo team informed him that the ball had hit their bodies before hitting their arms, but it was to no avail.
In the final minutes of the game, Abatti Abel decided to send off Vitor Barreto with a straight red card. The incident was similar to the one where the referee didn't penalize Andreas Pereira in the controversial game between Palmeiras and São Paulo.
From that free kick, Athletic created the play that led to the second goal of the match, sealing the final score. Coach Claudinei Oliveira was also sent off by Abatti Abel.
The result allowed Athletic to overtake Ferroviária in the standings. If Botafogo , from Ribeirão Preto, wins, the Araraquara team will enter the relegation zone.
