GNR finds missing minors from Germany in Pombal.

The National Republican Guard (GNR) announced this Wednesday that it had located three minors reported missing in Germany after intercepting a vehicle circulating with false license plates in the municipality of Pombal, and whose driver was arrested.
In a statement, the Leiria Territorial Command of the GNR (National Republican Guard) explained that, in an operation on Monday to intercept a vehicle circulating with false license plates , "it was possible to ascertain that, inside the vehicle, in addition to the 18-year-old driver, there were two minors, a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, residents of Germany and reported missing in the Schengen Area."
After searching the vehicle and ensuring the safety of the driver and occupants, the GNR (National Republican Guard) stated that the driver " was in possession of 360 doses of amphetamines , did not have a legal driver's license, and was suspected of stealing from other vehicles and coin-operated payment machines (payment machines where coins are inserted) in commercial establishments in the Leiria district," and was therefore arrested.
In addition to the amphetamines, the GNR seized the vehicle and two keys belonging to vehicles stolen last week in Leiria and Pombal.
Speaking to the Lusa news agency, a source from the GNR (National Republican Guard) explained that the driver of the vehicle is Portuguese and the brother of the 15-year-old girl who was in the car and had been reported missing in Germany. She was handed over to relatives residing in Portugal.
As for the other minor, a 13-year-old German boy, there is no family relationship with those involved, and he is temporarily staying in an institution until the necessary procedures for his return to his country of origin are completed.
These two minors had been reported missing for about a week, the same source revealed.
During the course of the police investigation, three people were also located in Castelo Branco: a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, and a 39-year-old man. The minor had also been reported missing on the Schengen Platform.
The same source stated that it was the occupants of the car who "ended up saying that there were three more people in Castelo Branco who used to hang out with them."
Of these three people, all German, the 17-year-old girl had been reported missing for about two weeks and was also being held in an institution until she could return to her country.
"What exactly they were doing is still to be determined, but it is assumed that, in order to survive, they may be linked to the commission of some thefts," declared the GNR source, adding that the investigation will continue.
The detainee, suspected of drug trafficking, driving without a license, and vehicle theft, will appear in court for his first judicial interrogation this Wednesday at the Leiria Judicial Court.
This operation was reinforced by the Castelo Branco Territorial Command.
