Forwards Mo Dauda and Mateus Santos sign until 2027 with Portimonense
Forwards Mo Dauda and Mateus Santos have signed contracts with Portimonense until 2027, the II Liga football club announced yesterday, which also secured defender Edney Silva on loan from Santa Clara.
The three players, who had been registered on the last day of the transfer market, on September 1st, were presented yesterday at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão, ending the cycle of 27 signings secured by the Algarve team in the summer.
Ghanaian striker Mo Dauda, 27, played for UD Ibiza Eivissa in the Spanish third division last season, on loan from Tenerife, playing 20 games and scoring six goals, and also played for Anderlecht (Belgium), Vitesse (Netherlands), Esbjerg (Denmark), Cartagena and Eldense, both in Spain.
Brazilian winger Mateus Santos, 26, has signed permanently from Berkane, having made 22 appearances and scored two goals in the Moroccan top flight in 2024/25. After playing for Estoril and FC Porto's under-19s, he played for Grémio, Atlético Mineiro, Vila Nova, Ituano and São Bento in Brazil, FC Botosani and Farul in Romania, Kifisias in Greece, and Atyrau in Kazakhstan as a senior.
Brazilian right-back Edney Silva, 21, who came through Palmeiras, was loaned until the end of the season by Santa Clara.
The team led by Tiago Fernandes, seventh in the table with seven points after three rounds, will host Sporting B next Sunday, second with nine.
