Farense beats under-23 team in first pre-season friendly
Farense , from the II Football League, beat the club's under-23 team yesterday, 3-1, in the first friendly match of the 2025/26 pre-season, played at the Algarve academy, located in the municipality of São Brás de Alportel.
For the main team, winger André Candeias, who scored twice, and midfielder Rafael Teixeira scored, while João Boavida scored the goal for the team participating in the Liga Revelação.
Farense, 17th in the 2024/25 edition of the I League, returned to the II League two years later and will be led by coach Silas, who succeeded Tozé Marreco.
Central defender Rúben Fernandes (ex-Gil Vicente) and winger Nikola Gjorgjev (ex-Aarau, Switzerland) are the two reinforcements already secured by the Algarve team.
