Brady Gilmore 'doubles' with triumph in the Guard and Artem Nych maintains leadership

Australian Brady Gilmore (Israel Premier Tech Academy) won the sixth stage of the Tour of Portugal today, repeating in Guarda the triumph achieved in Viseu, while Russian Artem Nych (Anicolor-Tien21) maintains the overall lead.
Gilmore, 24, achieved his second consecutive victory by winning the race to the highest city in Portugal, after the 175.2 kilometers from Águeda, in 04:31.58 hours, one second less than the first pursuers, such as the Spaniard Raul Rota (Rádio Popular-Paredes-Boavista), the Colombian Jesus David Peña (AP Hotels&Resorts-Tavira-Farense), Nych and the Frenchman Alexis Guérin (Anicolor-Tien21).
In the general classification, Nych, the 2024 winner, maintains the lead with an eight-second advantage, but over Peña, who moved up to second place, swapping with South African Byron Munton (Feirense-Beeceler), third at 20, after having lost 13 seconds today.
On Thursday, the peloton reaches Torre, the highest point in mainland Portugal, with the special category count after the climb from Covilhã, along the Penhas da Saúde slope, which culminates the 179.3 kilometers of the seventh stage that began in Sabugal.
