Sabalenka received a bye from the organizers of the German event, thanks to which she started the competition in the second round. The Belarusian played only two matches in Berlin. Her opponents were Rebeka Masarova and Elena Rybakina. The world ranking leader won both matches, losing a set only against the Kazakh.
