The volleyball legend isn't retiring. He dreams of another Olympic gold medal.

French national volleyball star Earvin Ngapeth wants to compete in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028. He will be 37 then, but he hopes to win a third medal. "That would be great," he said in an interview with L'Equipe.
The Saint-Raphael native dreams of another Olympic podium finish. He has two Olympic gold medals under his belt, won in Tokyo and Paris. A California appearance would be his fourth consecutive Olympic appearance.
"I'm motivated. But I know it's not just about me. It also depends on my physical condition. I'm 34 years old. But if my body holds up, I want to try. I dream of four Olympic appearances and a third medal. I'm not getting too excited; I didn't say it would be a third gold medal. But just a third medal would be great," he explained.

Before Ngapeth seriously considers the Olympics in Los Angeles, he and his teammates have another goal in mind: the World Championships in the Philippines (September 12-28). In the four editions of this event to date, he has never managed to reach the podium. While waiting for the tournament, which hosts Fenerbahce Istanbul, he continues his knee rehabilitation in Capbreton, located just across the border from Spain.
- Today I know that I will be 90 percent ready to play in the World Championships - he admitted.
During his absence, Les Bleus lost the Nations League title, losing to Slovenia in the quarterfinals at the end of July. This year's edition of the League was won by Poland.
