Majchrzak with a medal. He broke the world record.

We have Poland's first medal at the 12th World Games in Chengdu. Kacper Majchrzak won gold in water rescue, breaking the world record in the process.
The Pole achieved a time of 57.64. Behind him were two Italians: Simone Locchi (58.15) and Francesco Ippolito (58.66).
The previous world record was held by the aforementioned Ippolito and was 57.66.
As a reminder, in this competition, competitors must swim the entire length of the pool, turn around, and then swim to the mannequin lying on the bottom of the pool, pull it out and tow it to the wall.

This is the first medal for the Polish national team at the 12th World Games. Sixty-four Polish athletes will compete in China in aerial sports (drone racing), billiards, kayaking, dance sports, kickboxing, korfball, water rescue, Muay Thai, orienteering, motorboating, powerlifting, sport climbing, squash, underwater sports, water skiing, and wakeboarding.
In the last edition of the event (Birmingham 2022), Poles won 15 medals - three gold, five silver and seven bronze.
The last day of the event is scheduled for August 17.
