But Iga Świątek responded with the same, then broke her opponent again (2-1). The fourth game was close, with plays that utilized the full geometry of the court. Świątek also showed off her serve, but Joint found answers to the Polish attack. The Australian played well enough to create the first break chances of the match. However, Świątek remained calm in key moments. She won a game on her serve and then quickly secured a break (4-1).
Joint, however, made another surge and broke the Polish player in the sixth game. However, the joy was short-lived, as Świątek not only responded in kind but then confidently won the next game. The Polish player won the match 6-0, 6-2.
