Marketa Vondrousova won the WTA tournament in Berlin on Sunday. The Czech defeated Chinese qualifier Wang Xinyu in the final with 7-6 (10) 4-6 6-2.

Vondrousova gained confidence for Wimbledon with the title, which starts in a week. Two years ago, she surprisingly won the London Grand Slam tournament as an unseeded player. Due to injuries, Vondrousova dropped to 164th place in the world rankings.

At the tournament in Nottingham, McCartney Kessler was the best. The 25-year-old American won in the final against Dajana Jastremska from Ukraine: 6-4 7-5. For Kessler it meant the third title in her career.
