Chivas wants Santos to pay the price for the Leagues Cup.

After a difficult run in the Leagues Cup, Chivas returns to Liga MX eager for revenge and aiming to put their poor performance in the tournament held in the United States behind them. This time, the red-and-white team will face Santos Laguna, an opponent they have dominated in recent matches.
The last match between the two teams took place in the 2025 Clausura Tournament, a duel in which Chivas maintained its position as favorite and defeated the Lagunero team 1-0 at the AKRON Stadium, with Roberto Alvarado scoring.
Guadalajara has become a headache for Santos, as in their last ten matches, Chivas has recorded four wins, four draws, and only two losses, making the Rojiblanco team a difficult team for the Laguna squad.
The Sacred Flock will be visiting the Estadio Corona field this Sunday , a venue where they also obtained a victory in their last match, after defeating the Torreón team 0-2, with goals from Cade Cowell and Yael Padilla.
The last time Chivas fell to Santos Laguna was in the 2023 Apertura Tournament, when Pablo Repetto's team beat Guadalajara 2-1, with goals from Juan Brunetta and Durán Vergara, while Roberto Alvarado scored for the Rojiblancos.
The match between Chivas and Santos Laguna will be played this Sunday, August 10, at the Estadio Corona, starting at 8:05 p.m.
