4 leagues in Mérida

Yesterday, Mérida City Council announced the announcements for municipal soccer, futsal, tennis, and basketball leagues, the main objective of which is to promote citizen participation in sports activities.
Jesús Pérez Ballote, Director of Human Well-being, mentioned that the leagues aim to promote sports and physical activity, as well as healthy competition and teamwork. There will be four sports leagues that will offer opportunities for people of all ages and genders.
The futsal competition will begin on September 22 and will feature 41 tournaments registered in 27 locations in neighborhoods and commissaries, with 300 teams expected to be registered, with cash prizes for the best (14,000 pesos for the winning club).
The soccer tournament will also kick off on the same date, at five venues. Registration costs 400 pesos, and 60 teams are expected to participate in the children's, youth, and women's categories.
The tennis tournament will begin on September 13 and will feature 80 players across three venues, with free registration.
The basketball league, meanwhile, will begin on September 7 and will be played in four different venues. Registration for this sport costs 500 pesos, and 60 teams are expected.
The presentation was attended by Iván Herrera Rosiles, Deputy Director of Sports, and the coordinators of the sports circuits presented, the municipality reported.
