Running, the Two Towers Run is back

Quarrata, July 3, 2025 – One of the most anticipated events of the Tuscan running summer returns on Sunday, July 6, 2025: the Sgambata delle Due Torri, now in its 42nd edition. The event, also known as the Sergio Benini Trophy – Non Dimenticando Serena, will take place as per tradition in the charming hillside hamlet of Lucciano, in the Municipality of Quarrata. The event is organized by the AICS Club of Lucciano in collaboration with the GP La Stanca of Valenzatico, and is sponsored by the Municipality of Quarrata and the aegis of UISP of Pistoia. The competitive route is 9.5 km long, divided into two challenging but spectacular laps, which lead athletes through the Montalbano vineyards, along a muscular route with marked differences in altitude and numerous stretches of dirt road. A 5 km recreational-motor course is also planned, designed for those who wish to participate in a non-competitive manner. Meeting point: 7:30 am at the AICS Club in Lucciano.

Departure: 9 am. The organizers affectionately dedicate this edition to the memory of Serena and Sergio Benini, two figures dear to the local sports community. The pride of the event is also the attention to the little ones, with a mini-race dedicated to children, in the spirit of celebration and inclusion.
