From Livorno to Naples, Luca Marianucci's dream. Who is the defender who has bewitched Conte

Livorno, 9 June 2025 – The medical visits are already scheduled, the contract is ready. And the blue dream of Luca Marianucci , a Livorno native and defender by trade, is ready to take off. After a season as a protagonist with the Empoli jersey, the 20-year-old will sign with Napoli. The Italian champion club bought him for 9 million euros: "If it were up to me, I would start the retreat tomorrow. I'm on vacation, but my head and thoughts are already projected towards the adventure that is about to begin".

Marianucci, interviewed on nicoloschira.com, shared his excitement. "When I heard about Napoli, I invited all my friends and family to dinner to celebrate. It all happened very quickly, but I wanted to share this joy with the people close to me." In Naples they are already waiting for him with open arms. "After the match played with Empoli at the Maradona - says Marianucci - I spoke with Di Lorenzo and Politano, who welcomed me and told me they would be waiting for me soon. They were very kind: they immediately made me feel at ease and one of them. Now I can't wait to meet all my new teammates."

For him there is the dream of working with Antonio Conte. "I haven't spoken to him yet, but I hope he can get there soon. I can't wait to start working with the coach. With a coach of his caliber I will only have the opportunity to grow and learn from all points of view". The defender explains how after wearing the blue shirt of Napoli he hopes to wear the blue of the national team: "The shirt of the champion Napoli - he says - is already a great achievement. Then there is also the blue of the national team among the objectives: I have never been called up and it remains the dream I had as a child. Next year's World Cup? I would sign for it, but now the objective is to do the best possible to help the team try to win the Scudetto again".
