Jul 4, 2025

The presentation of the event
Pisa, July 4, 2025 – Saturday, July 5 , at the terrace of the Imperial Bath in Tirrenia (Piazza Belvedere, starting at 8:30 pm), boxing will be the protagonist with a special evening built around a figure who made sport a path of life. The special guest who returns to the fight will be Giovanni Redi, 37, former Muai Thay world champion, who will fight in the ring against Anatolii Burdiian.
The event, with free admission , is organized by Pugilistica Carlo Bartolomei, with the patronage of the Municipality of Pisa. The rich program of events will be presented by Marcello Bartolomei, Redi's teacher. Much of the soul of the event is due to him, which will bring boxing to Tirrenia on July 5, in an unprecedented context for the city. Many collateral events are scheduled to enrich the evening, before Redi's match. Like the first "Trofeo del Litorale Piero del Papa", for the best amateur boxer of the evening; the Memorial Cristian Daghio, the Memorial Gigi Tassi, the Memorial Franco Priami, the Memorial Carlo Bartolomei.
"We thank the Bartolomei boxing club for giving the city of Pisa and the coast this free sporting event open to all citizens - said sports councilor Frida Scarpa - which I invite to participate. As the champion Giovanni Redi shows us, sport is an opportunity to tell life stories. After being world champion of Muai Thay, he has not stopped and is trying to face new disciplines and new challenges. This is precisely one of the values that sport teaches us, and it is a message that can pass on to the city through events like this. The Bartolomei boxing club is an important institution in Pisa, which works every day in the territory, also with projects for the prevention of bullying in schools that are very effective. These are messages of inclusion that spread more simply and immediately through sport. The Municipal Administration, as always, supports events like this, which manage to bring sport closer to citizens".
Giovanni Redi is 37 years old, a professional boxer, and an entrepreneur in the world of sports. His sporting history began at 15, driven by the courage to defend himself from bullies. Between the ages of 18 and 24 he lived permanently in Thailand, where he won 7 titles including Italian, European, world championships, international titles and medals with the Muay Thai national team from 2004 to 2017. After his time in Thailand he returned permanently to Italy, continuing his career and organizing important events in the area, including the world title fought at the Arena Garibaldi and several matches in Pisa and Pontedera.
