End of negotiations between OGC Nice and Leverkusen for the transfer of Jonathan Clauss

End of negotiations between OGC Nice and Leverkusen for the transfer of Jonathan Clauss

Too far apart from the start, the positions of the two clubs never came together because Bayer was not inclined to pay more than half the price set by Gym to secure the services of the 32-year-old French international.

The negotiations were unsuccessful and have now broken off, as reported by Kicker on Monday evening, and Leverkusen are said to have turned to other options to liven up their right wing.

It remains to be seen how Clauss, who is tied to OGC Nice until June 2026 (with an optional year), will digest this non-transfer.

As a reminder, the defender was absent from the squad against Auxerre on Saturday, officially due to an ankle problem.
