He is expected to undergo medical tests and examinations in the coming hours to determine the severity of the injury and thus, how long he will be out of action.
Efraín Juárez, the Pumas coach, whose team won 2-3, exploded after the comments and accusations against his player, Adalberto Carrasquilla, who was the one who hit Mier.

“The displays of pain and photographs clearly show how harsh this action was, which was even reviewed by VAR to determine with the referee whether it should have resulted in a red card or not. The referee considered that the player should be cautioned, but not sent off. Despite the review, he stood by his initial decision,” reported www.futbolred.com
“The controversy has escalated, and there is even talk of a process to prevent Carrasquilla from playing while Mier remains in recovery . According to initial reports, this measure would be requested by Cruz Azul,” the specialized website added.

Juárez came to the defense of his player and stated that there was no ill intent in injuring Kevin Mier.
“I didn’t see the play; I was talking to my coaching staff when it happened… My team has shown fight in all circumstances, but it was never malicious. It’s football, they should stop messing around,” he explained.
