Donald Trump receives impressive booing at NFL game between Washington Commanders and Detroit Lions: video
US President Donald Trump was booed on Sunday during the NFL game between the Washington Commanders and the Detroit Lions .
Trump booed at NFL stadium Trump arrived at Northwest Stadium, located on the outskirts of the capital, two minutes before halftime, with the score 10-22. The president, invited to the game by businessman Josh Harris, owner of the Commanders, appeared on the video screens alongside the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, among others.

Trump was mostly booed, although there were some cheers as well. Minutes earlier, his plane, Air Force One, flying from Florida to Washington, had made a low flyover of the stadium, also met with boos.
"Was that the best flyover in history? Nobody has ever done one like that. They're the best pilots in the world. They say whoever flies Air Force One is the best, and that's exactly what we just saw. It was incredible," Trump said after landing.

At halftime, Trump participated in a military ceremony and was booed for the third time. Trump's presence at the game coincides with ESPN's report that the president wants the new stadium the Commanders are building in Washington to be named after him.

In his second term, Trump has been a regular at sporting events, something that is not common among US presidents.
Trump is especially unpopular in the Washington area, which votes overwhelmingly Democrat and has been hit by mass government layoffs and the current government shutdown that has now lasted for more than a month.
